Bamburgh Castle

Bamburgh Castle

Bamburgh castle is a stunning castle located along the coast of Bamburgh situated on a nine acer rocky mount overlooking the coast and village. The castle has been the royal seat of the Kings of Northumbria and a family home since 1894 and has a wealth of history to uncover behind its walls. From the vast displays and artefacts on display to the stunning historical architecture of the rooms and buildings such as the Kings Hall and Keep. The castle is so alive with history that archaeology is often taking place around the castle grounds.

The castle may be recognised by some as the being the film location for many TV Shows including Time Team and the recent CBBC Show Worlds End.

Bamburgh Castle is also home to the Armstrong and Aviation Museum. The museum houses a collection of artefacts that tells the story of the achievements of the first Lord Armstrong and his engineering career as well as displaying world war artefacts.
