Launched in May 2011 by founder James Kirkland as a small project www.placesinnorthumberland.co.uk has been providing handy information on where to go and what has been happening in Northumberland and the borders. Since the launch of the original site www.placesinnorthumberland.co.uk has been developed and grown into the site you see today. Growing and developing to help provide the information that our visitors need in the most convent ways possible.

In January 2020 we re-branded as Travel Northumberland, Our new name being simpler and closer to the meaning of our site purpose.

However nothing would have been made possible without the support and feedback of our visitors and local establishments to which we thank you all. Therefore if you have anything to say we would love to hear from you by sending us an email!
