Alnwick Garden & Treehouse
The Alnwick Garden is a vast complex of gardens just next door to Alnwick Castle. The 42 acre garden is split into a range of sections designed and built around the prominent central water cascade. The garden sections include the Grand Cascade, Serpent Garden, Rose Garden, Poison Garden, Cherry Orchard, Woodland Walk and Pavilion. The Garden is the ideal place to spend to spend your sunny days out. Kids will love the Serpent Garden home to creative and unique water sculptures they are sure to get wet.
Grand Cascade
The grand cascade is the first thing you will see as you pass-through the archway and enter the garden. It is the gardens major centrepiece set over several the listed earth banks which create the Garden’s slope. 7260 gallons of water tumble down its series of 21 weirs every minute! The cascade even has 4 different water displays which take place randomly every hour. Popularly kids love to jump underneath the tall water shoots when these shows take place or collect the water in the mini tractors at the base of the cascade.

Ornamental Garden
The Ornamental garden is hidden behind the Venetian gates at the peak of the Grand Cascade. The garden is beautifully crafted garden filled with a vast array of plants. The gardens centre houses a bubbling pool spilling into rifts running throughout the garden and into two small secret gardens.
Serpent Garden
The serpent garden is home to the range of creative and unique water sculptures created by William Pye. The highlight of the garden being the Torricelli an interactive sculpture which fills up slowly before its jets spurt to life. The Torricelli is a favourite with kids who can’t resist trying to dodge the jets of water, therefore its best to bring a change of clothes! Another garden favourite is a sculpture that if you are brave enough you can walk between two streams of falling water. The garden sculptures are designed to showcase a different of aspect of water and how it can look and move.
Poison Garden
The Poison Garden is a highlight of any trip to The Alnwick Garden. Once you enter the mysterious locked gates the knowledgeable guides will share tales, myths and legends about some of the most deadly plants ever. As well as uncovering facts from science and history. The garden is home to over 100 varieties of deadly plants. Most appear beautiful despite being harmful and capable of causing serious illness or even death.
Pavilion
The Pavilion is home to a café with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Along with a function room suitable for education, weddings, parties, conferences and more. The Pavilion has spectacular views looking out directly to the grand cascade and garden grounds.
The Treehouse
The Treehouse is another big highlight of any trip to the Alnwick Garden. The treehouse is built using sustainably sourced Canadian cedar, Scandinavian redwood and English and Scots pine. Set back in the trees it looks like a natural part of the forest surrounding it. The Treehouse features wobbly bridges that are a hit with kids and plenty of space to relax and dine.
The Potting Shed
The Potting Shed is a cosy newly refurbished bar severing a range of hot or cold drinks and light lunches. The Potting Shed is a great place to have to recharge your batteries and has both indoor and outdoor seating.
Treehouse Restaurant
The treehouse is home to a magical restaurant high up in its treetops. The restaurant is a great and unique place to dine or hold a private function such as weddings.
