What to do Halloween 2015

Trick of Treat? Our team have been hard at work uncovering what events are happening this Halloween from dressing up to giant witch gatherings and more! We hope our list helps you find a event suited to you.

Alnwick Castle

  • Halloween Half-Term Treats- 1st Oct – 1st Nov
    • There are lots of Halloween half-term treats to look forward to during October, including alchemists, witch pots, and the Goblin Queen (along with her tamed dragon!)
      • Normal admission charges apply.

Alnwick Garden

  • Word Record Attempt for Witch Gathering- 31st Oct at 2pm
    • Break out your broom and don your hexing hat for our ghastly witch gathering world record attempt. Attempting to beat the official Guinness World RecordsTM title for the ‘Largest number of people dressed as witches in one place’, we need more than 1600 people to join our dark divination.
      • Standard Garden Tickets are required for admission. All free participant tickets have sold out!

Paxton House

  • Bat Walk- 10th Oct at 6pm
    • Join us for our annual October Bat Walk. Meet in the courtyard at 6pm booking advised. A fun filled and interesting evening for all. Led by Graeme Wilson (bat expert), heat down to the river and hopefully see and hear some Pipistrelles, Daudentons’s and Noctules. Bat detector equipment provided.
      • £5 Adult, £2 Child, £12 Family.
  • Halloween Twilight Tours- 31st Oct 4:30pm
    • Are you brave enough to walk though the house by lamplilght after hours? Listening to storiesof hauntings from Paxton’s past…? mwah hah ha ha!
      • £5 Adult, £2 Children, £12 Family.

Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardes

  • Spooky Fun at Belsay Hall- 24th Oct – 1st Nov 11am – 5pm
    • This Halloween half-term join us for frightening fun at Belsay Hall, Castle & Gardens. Fearless souls are required for a thrilling family adventure. Grab your cloaks and steady your nerves as you hear scary tales, try creepy crafts and find out how to spot a witch. Find out more here.
      • £8.30 Adult, £5 Child, £0 English Heritage Members.

Chillingham Castle

  • Halloween Fun and Fireworks- 31st Oct 6pm – 8pm
    • An evening of fun for the whole family Activities will include: Children’s Ghost Stories, Best Fancy Dress Competition, Best Pumpkin Competition, Pumpkin Trail, Tombola, Children’s Tablecloth Colouring, FREE Children’s Face Painting and Live Music. Find out more here.

Cragside House

  • Halloween Half Term- 26th Oct – 31st Oct
    • Every day during October half term there’s lots of Hallowe’en fun to be had at Cragside! Follow the witch hunt trail in and around Nelly’s Moss Labyrinth – there will even be a real witch to find on 31 October!. Join in with creepy craft activities in the spooky stables workshops – make a haunted house, make a Hallowe’en lantern or make a scary spider to hang on our giant spiders web! Find out more here.
      • 50p per trail guide, £1  for craft activitys. Normal admission charges apply.

Scottish Seabird Centre

  • Pirate Weekend- 17th & 18th Oct
    • Ahoy, me Hearties… shiver me timbers! Pirate Weekend is back… bigger and better than ever before! Don’t miss one of the highlights of our events calendar as the swashbuckling fun returns. With treasures to seek and games to play, a good time is guaranteed! Pirate games at 13:00 and 15:00, and fancy-dress judging at 14:00.

Whitehouse Farm Centre

  • Halloween Spooktacular
    • A range of Halloween crafts and activities at the Whitehouse Farm Centre.
